Glasgow Estate Footscray – Yarraville (Original auction 25th October 1884)

Advertisements for this subdivision started in early October 1884 and boasted of about 170 allotments. On the poster I can find lot 167 but many have gone from the poster. Newspaper reports on the auction on the 25th of October 1884 spoke of a “large attendance for each lot: every lot sold”. Interestingly just 12 weeks later lots on the estate were being readvertised and the estate was now the Mackay (Glasgow) Estate. Resales went on for all of 1885. Street involved included Tongue, Gamon, Mackay, Princess, Somerville, Fairlie, Stephen, Nicholson and William.
