Description
The 22nd of October 1928 was a Monday and the time of day is around 8 or 9 AM – I would have expected to see a bit more action in the streets. Most activity seems to be on the vacant block below the aircraft, probably the south west corner of North and River Steets – four or five people playing cricket, maybe, and a small group watching from the footpath. On the left of River Street at the junction with Swan Street is the tram workshop and across the road is the Richmond racecourse. Large sign advertises Kennon & Sons.
