Description
This was the fourth tranche of this subdivision. Because the third sale attracted such an “Enormous Attendance” and such “spirited bidding” the directors were forced into bringing forward this sale. Here is a section from the ad:-
It was to be regretted that so many Bona-fide Purchasers were unable on Saturday week to catch the eye of the auctioneer, owing to very large crowd, hence the reason for stopping the Auction Sale and selling privately, with the immense success which attended It, and as so many people left the ground unable to get near the Salesman, it has been decided to Issue only
500 RAILWAY PASSES,
And to provide merely Light Refreshment,
On SATURDAY, 3rd March
This section of the subdivision starts on Station Street at Medway and spreads east to Doncaster Road (now Dorking Road) then south to the north side of Severn Street. The top left of the poster is missing and could be replaced if one would prefer. Let me know when you order and it will be done.
