Description
First advertised for sale on the 28th of March 1888, 18 of the original 46 allotments have been sold prior to this sale on the 12th of May. Three months later lot 23 on Carnarvon Street was being offered for private sale at £4-15-0 per frontage foot, a total of £190 – a serious amount of money in 1888. The subdivision covers the whole of Carnarvon Street and east to the western side of Hunter Street (now Lawrence Street).
