Deepdene Estate Camberwell 19th April 1884 – Deepdene

Description

A subdivision of 35 very generous sized allotments – most are 80 feet by over 200 feet nearly 1600 square metres. Given the depth of the blocks  £100 for an 80 foot wide blocks seems good. In March 1885 advertisements came out offering 4 allotments for sale in the Deepdene Estate – lot 1 was made up of lots 7 though to 16 from the 1884 auction. Over the course of the “Land Boom” these lots were offered for sale another 2 times. I could find not newspaper reports on the sales. The subdivision starts on the SE corner of Burke and Cotham Roads and heads south along Burke Road to the north side of Wills Road (now Deepdene Place) the heads east to cover both sides of Deepdene Road.
