Description
The Kerr Bros (the photographers) were probably in the tower above the Elizabeth entrance to the Flinders Street railway station when they took this image. The date is 1916 and we are looking north from Flinders Street. The tall “Queen Anne” style building on the left is the Australian Building, the third tallest building in the world when it was completed in 1889. Further north on the right is the GPO.
