Description
A massive subdivision on the south west corner of Doncaster and Balwyn Roads. It is divided into 3 sections with section 1 on sale on the 22nd of September 1888. Section 2 went to market on the 20th of October. An article in The Herald of the 14th of May 1914 “Blaze of the Old Boom” they reported:-
On September 22, on the Heights of Kew Estate, Doncaster road, 120 lots brought £10/5/ to £2/2/6 a foot.
So all lots sold but in 1914 The Herald reported that land prices had not returned to their 1888 levels. It seems that section 3 may not have made it to market and that much of the area was broken up in a different way in later years. Apart from Doncaster and Balwyn Roads I cannot find a current road.
