Description
An auction sale of 40 lots varying from 4 to 14 acres in 1879. Using a story about Napoleon to sell the concept of owning a small farm in Mordialloc is really reaching for it. Of the named roads only 2 are still with us, Governors Road and Canterbury, of the others Darling seems to have disappeared, Barkly is probably Boundary and Bowen is most likely Wells. The reserve price appears to be £6 an acre.
