Description
We have 20 allotments on the western side of Main Street running between Canterbury Road in the south to Molleton Street in the north. Given the period, November 1915, sales went reasonably well. The Herald the 2nd of December 1915:-
Richards’ Orchard, Blackburn.—
Of the 20 lots offered 18 wore sold, at prices ranging from 12/- a foot to 22/6 a foot; lot 2, with buildings, realising £450.
The lots have exceptional depth, over 300 feet, so lot 13 at around £50 – $100, they would represent a bargain. Unless you had to mow the grass.
