Super crisp aerial image of the “Turning Basin” on the Yarra in 1939. There is vacant land where the Crowne Plaza is to be built. The view is from the corner of Spencer and Flinders Streets to Flinders Street Station. At about 1 O’Clock one can just make out the side of the T&G building which is being extended, that was finished in 1939.
