Description
The first subdivision of this land was auctioned on the 23rd February 1884 and it was for twelve 4 acre blocks – perfect for further subdivision – according to the auctioneers. The second was on the 6th of December 1884 when 100 villa sites were offered. The third was this auction on the 17th of January 1885 offering 64 allotments, presumably the blocks marked in red. There was one further sale, 7th February 1885. Advertising for that sale did not mention how many allotments were available. The whole subdivision is on Union Road between Cotham Road and Mont Albert Road and heads east to the western side of York Street covering Kent Street (now Barton).
