Description
Sections 2 and 3 of a large development running south from Whitehorse Road along Mitcham to Lucknow Street and west to Simla Road (now a street). Section 1, north of the railway line was sold in September 1888. The date is 24th of November 1888 and we are getting very close to the end of the “Land Boom”. Since 1888 the MMBW has acquired the land from the right-of-way next to lot 28 on Lucknow, west to beyond Simla Road and north to Agra Street. Lahore Street is likely to be part of Windouran Drive. Meerut Street has been extended to Simla Road, taking out lots 68 and 81. Other streets mentioned include Calcutta, Delhi, Benares and Meerut.
