Pender’s Grove 10th December 1887 Northcote – Thornbury

Description

A subdivision of 338 lots running east from Plenty Road, conveniently someone has pencilled in that it is now called High Street, along the south side of Dundas Street, both sides of Pender, Bourke, Collins and Flinders Streets across Hotham (now Archbold) Street to Penders Park. There has been some later rearrangement of the blocks along Hotham (Archbold) Street however the lots on the south east corner of Dundas and Hotham are as on the poster. I could find no record of the success of the sale but one lot, probably lot 176 in Block A, was being offered for sale in August 1888 for £3 per frontage foot – say £200.
