Swanston St Looking North Vic Rail 1930s
$16.50 – $49.50
From Flinders Street we are looking north along Swanston Street 1930s
Description
The Victorian Railways’ photographer probably climbed onto the roof of the Princes Bridge Station to take this photograph. It shows the edge of St Paul’s Cathedral through to the Manchester Unity Building which was completed in 1932. In the foreground there is a Melbourne City Council worker and his broom. On the right is his cart. His presence explains the seriously clean state of the road and footpath.
