Description
This, according to the auctioneer’s advertisement, was the last orchard to be subdivided in Camberwell (although it’s in Kew). Mr. Pettitt’s orchard started on the south west corner of Burke Road and Sackville Streetand ran west to cover both sides of Balmoral Avenue then south to the north side of Mount Street. Picking up Mont Albert Road West (now Dean Street). The auctioneer has had a good day in that it looks like all blocks have been sold even lot 39 which held an existing house.
