Fairmont Park Foot of Victoria St 1880 – Hawthorn

A poster full of history, two great images of the area, the names of the purchasers and the prices paid for next to 112 lots in 1880.  While the images on the screen may be a little blurry in the print they are clear. On an A4 print they will be small but clear. The lots seem to be color coded.  Prices paid varied from £4 per frontage foot for lot 38 to just 10/- ($1) per foot for lot 156 – but that lot did have a big frontage to Church Street and not a great depth. Streets involved have all retained their original names (at least from the time of the poster) – Barkers Road, Harrison Crescent, Oak Street (which now extends further west than on the map), Lawes Street, Pine Street and Elm Street.
