Description
The edges of this poster are showing some distress and I have left them that way the map area though is fine. The sale is not the first for the development as many have been sold (see the orange/red areas) and the advertisement for this sale states “The portion of the estate already sold is covered in houses” – The Elsternwick Leader and District Record 26th November, 1887, page 2. The whole development runs south from Glen Huntly (now Glenhuntly) Road along the eastern side of Orrong Road and both sides of Shoobra Road to Riddell Parade. Just to make it difficult it also picks up the land bordered by Archibald Street, Riddell Parade and Orrong Road. Two roads cut through the estate running east/west, Rowan and Hamilton Streets.
