Description
From the Caulfield and Elsternwick Leader of the 9th of November, 1888:-
Mr. F. L. Flint report having held’
the following sales:- portion of the Glen Iris Heights
estate,. Malvern, at prices up to £8/12/6 per foot (in conjunction with
Messrs. Munro and Baillieu). Total £18,876.
Working backwards from the total it seems they may have sold about half the allotments. Not too bad given the date. The land is bordered in the north by Britten Road (now Street), in the east by Glen Iris Road, in the south by Kerferd Road and in the west by Gardiner Parade. Bourne Road cuts through the estate east/west. Cole Avenue presently runs north/south but there is no hint of it on the map.
