Description
Part of the left hand side of the poster is missing and has not been restored. Given the information on the map I thought that the poster (the remaining part) was worth restoring. It seems all but 6 or 7 of the lots sold and the auctioneer has recorded the sale price. Lots on Canterbury Road went for as much as £4/5/- per frontage foot – lot 2 went for £233/15/-. While similar lots on Jellicoe Street went for £2/10/- per foot – a total of £125. Streets covered are Kitchener, Jellicoe, Halsey, Peace, Prince and Batty Streets.
