Description
A notice of the private sale of 30 lots. Each lot covers just over one acre. It was difficult to date the sale but the State Library of Victoria suggests that it was during the 1800s (the SLV going out on a limb). The printers, Walker, May & Co., had their business in MacKillop Street between 1874 and 1900 so I’d guess 1870s. If the development was in the 1880s the subdivision would have been into smaller blocks. The development is one block from the north west corner of Mont Albert and Balwyn Roads and picks up the west side of Boston Road and runs west to capture both sides of Salisbury Street. It extends north to Hopetoun (now Boston) Street.
