Description
A very smart poster from 1939 with two photographs showing the area in that year. 18 lots were offered and 16 sold. Here is a report from the Argus of Monday the 30th of October 1939:-
CAMBERWELL LAND
A successful auction sale of the Woodlands Estate, Riversdale road, East Camberwell, was held on Saturday afternoon, when 16 of the 18 allotments In the subdivision were sold under the hammer for a total of £4,954/7/6.
Prices on the south side of Woodlands avenue ranged from £4/10/ to £6/17/6 a foot, and on the north side from £4 to £ 6 a foot. The land was sold subject to a restriction of only one single house, to cost not less than £1,000, being erected on each block.
The blocks offered are all on Woodlands Avenue.
