Description

A private sale of 33 allotments prior to 1908. The asking price is marked on each lot. Lot one has sold and the asking price was 30/- ($3 ) per frontage foot the frontage was 66 feet and 8 inches – so total cost exactly £100. The vendors moved to and auction on the 13th of June 1908 – an ad from the Argus 1st June 1908:-

The layout of the streets have changed a little. Shirley Grove has gone and been replaced by Quantock Street but it is further east than Shirley. Catherine Street has been driven east from Elpnin Grove between lots 17 and 16.
