According to the Caulfield and Elsternwick Leader of the 7th of July, 1888 lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 12, 13, 18, 19, 22 and 29 sold for a total of £2255-10-0, an average of £225 per block. At an average frontage of, say 68 feet, that would be £3-6-0 per foot. The development is bounded by Turner Street (now Clyde), Burke Road in the east, Hope Street in the south and Louis Street in the west.
