Lilydale Township Estate 1886 – Lilydale

Description

Another Troedel master piece from 1886.  There is damage to the poster at about 4 O’Clock on the border.  This has not been repaired.  North is out to the right and the land is to the east of the Maroondah Highway (Govt Road on the map) and south of Main Road (Maroondah Highway) as it heads down to the railway crossing. In the south, the land is bounded by Taylor Street (Gippsland Road on the map) Nicholas and Clyde Roads run from Cavehill Road (the eastern border) to the highway. Victoria Avenue (now John Street) does the same.
