There were many advertisements for this sale, even a full page in the Melbourne Punch. Below is a report from the Age of Monday the 29th of October:-

Mr. C. M’Dowall (in conjunction with Messrs.
Coverlid and Cuddon and John Day) reports a sale
of the second section of the Malvern and Glen Iris
Estate. Boundary-road frontages realised from £1
Shaw-street, from 19s. to 22s.; Montrose-street, from

The allotments are larger than normal sized block, most are over 60 feet wide and many go up to 66 feet wide. This makes the average cost of a block around £60.  The subdivision starts at the corner of Boundary (now Warrigal) Road and Temple Street and heads east to Queen’s (now just Queens) Parade then heads north to cover both sides of Mulgrave Street (now Reid). Montrose Street runs east/west through the subdivision and Shaw Street nearly runs north/south through the subdivision.
