North Williamstown Parish of Cut-Paw-Paw 1874 – Newport

Description

There were newspaper advertisements for what appears to be another auction of Government land in 1874 with allotment numbers going up to 180 but I could find no advertisements for this subdivision of 132 allotments. The subdivision is bounded by Yarra Street in the south, Douglas Parade in the east, Wilkins Street in the north and Alma Street in the west, Elizabeth (now Oakbank) and Bunbury Streets cut through the development. The area is now called Newport.
