Caulfield Township 14th January 1888 – Malvern, Malvern East

Much has changed after 1888, especially around the southern end of Victoria Road, but the primary school is still on Tooronga Road. Advertisements before Christmas 1887 declared that there were 56 allotments to be sold on the day but if the red hatching is correct it should have been 60. I could find no reports on how successful the sale was. The subdivision starts on the north west corner of Dandenong and Tooronga Roads, heads north along the western side of Tooronga until it covers both sides of Childers Road and then heads west to cover both sides of Gladstone Road (now Ewart Street).
