Sorrento 1920 looking south east along the Esplanade

An image from the Rose series of postcards, P.1813, showing tourists from one of the bay ferries walking along the Esplanade.

We are looking south east towards the intersection of the Esplanade and the Nepean Highway – just beyond the “Mornington Hotel”. The Rose Postcard photographer has caught a number of tourists walking along the Espalnade, maybe heading to the steam tram taking them to the back beach.
