Description
North is out to the right on the map and west is to the top of the page. The development is on the west side of Burnley Street between Highett Street and extends north to Laity Street. It extends west to a point where Coppin Street meets Highett. Streets involved include Collie (now Gardner), John’s, (now Davidson) and both sides of Buckingham. The plan is marked out in “Links” – 1 link is about 8 inches so 10 links is around 80 inches or 2 metres. We are fortunate in that the prices have been record in pencil. Lot 8, for example, was nearly 80 feet by 166, and sold for 11/- (11 shillings) per frontage foot – £44.
