Description

Reports on the Boxing Day sale declared that 200 people “journeyed” to Upper Ferntree Gully for the sale. The subdivision is split into 2 sections, the blue blocks with a reserve of £25 and the “Red” blocks with a reserve of £15 each. The poster, as we have it, shows the Red blocks more orange than red. Prior to the sale some 35 red blocks had already been sold and five more sold on the day. The reports do not say how many of the blue blocks sold on the day but those that sold fetched between £25 and £37.

Streets covered by the subdivision include Bates, Irene, Ferny Creek, Janiesleigh, Jones, Glassford, Olivette, Kookaburra (now Kensley) Dawn, Little, and the road maked Government now Hughes.

The poster has a picture which has the bottom left corner torn off. I have left it that way.
