Description
The first advertisements I could find appeared in the Age on the 23rd of August 1941. Lot 9 , on the corner of Barkers Road and Charles Street, seems to have a price of £17 per frontage foot – so 17 times 64 – £1088. Seems high given the times but lots 6 and 7 appear to have been sold and they were marked at £17 per foot. The estate starts on the north west corner of Barkers Road and College Parade and extends west to cover Charles Street then heads north taking in Burne Court and Hansen Street until it reaches Trinity College.
