Description
By the time the auction arrived, of the 176 allotments, some 57 had already been sold. Easily explained as the auctioneer described the land as “Inland Sanatorium” and “Azure Loveliness”. Purchasers should have been alerted as he went on to describe Templestowe and Heidelberg as “Charming English Villages”. The subdivision is bounded in the east by Elgar Road and Harp (now Belmore) Road in the north. Bounded in the west by Boundary (now Boondara) Road and in the south Box Hill Crescent and Seymour Road now Strathbane Avenue.
