Description
The Argus of the 17th of September 1888, page 9, reported that:-
Messers, Carney and Kelly report a sale to day at Butler’s reserve, Box hill, all the allotments, 37 in number, being disposed of frontages to Station street, realised from £8 10s to £6 2s 6d per foot: to James street, £5 10s to £2 2s per foot. Total amount of sale £5,008 16s 4d.
The sale was for blocks running west along James Street from Station Street to Surrey Drive.
