Coldblo Estate Malvern 4th June 18892 – Armadale/Malvern

The auctioneers called it Malvern but now it is a mixture of Malvern and Armadale. 67 allotments and an eleven roomed mansion for sale – 28 of the allotments are for shops. I could find no reports on how the auction went but there were court cases over the handling of the funds. The owner of the house, Coldblo, was find £500 and sentenced to 4 years hard labour. The subdivision starts on Glenferrie between Stanhope and Union Streets and runs westward to the eastern side of Lambeth. The Malvern tram depot now covers lots 47 to 55.
