Description
A notice of a private sale of 63 allotments the date is likely to be early 1883. There was an earlier auction on the 11th of November 1882 offering for sale the lots on the south west corner of Riversdale Road and Burke Road running south over Denmark Hill Road and west to Wills Street, hence some of the blank areas on the poster. The agent has recorded the sale price for most blocks in shillings per frontage foot and even noted the name of the purchaser of lot 44, 45 and 46 – “Brodie”. This sale covers the area from Burke Road west along Riversdale and Denmark Hill Roads to Havelock Road, picking up King and Wills Streets.
