We have 59 allotments for sale and the world is heading into the “Roaring Twenties”, how will the sale go? A local newspaper report on the sale says that there were a “Plethora” of people attending the sale, bidding was spirited and more than half the lots sold but all eyes were on the “cynosure” (I had to look it up) – “the center of everyone’s attention” was lot 1. Prices ranged from 25/- to £2-0-0 per frontage foot.  In February 1936 Deschamps Hill Estate was advertised again and this time 36 allotments were up for sale.
