Description
Mr Breen is selling off his land that has been subdivided into 76 allotments and they have chosen Easter Saturday at 4pm for the sale. “The Herald” of the 4th of April 1918 reported, page 4, that only 26 allotments sold and they were mainly on View Hill Road (now Hilton Road). Total sales amounted to just over £1300 – so an average of around £50 per block. The land to the west of Clarke Road, lots 57 to 76, is now part of the national park. Myrtle Street is now a road – one of the shortest roads in VIctoria.
