Mentone Railway Reserve 9th June 1888 – Mentone

This subdivision would be a 800 meters away from the railway station it has not stopped the promoters. To walk the distance, from the furthest block in 3 minutes would be a very good effort. Hover you cursor over the map for an enlarged view.

A subdivision of 80 allotments along Johnstone and Neville Streets between Nepean Highway (Arthur’s Seat Road back then) and Warrigal Road (Oakleigh Road in 1888). Reports from the Caulfield and Elsternwick Leader of Saturday the 16th of June 1888 suggest a very successful day for the promoters:-
