Description
The most colourful poster with over two hundred allotments. It seems that all the allotments east of Hortense Street have been incorporated into the Maribyrnong Reserve. The newspaper advertisement in the Oakleigh Leader (North Brighton) claimed the development was “The Greatest Sale in the Era of Subdivisions” and that the “Foundation of a Fortune May be laid by Simply embracing and Utilising The Chance”. The Vendors were Hon. Thos, Bent, Esq. M.L.A., F. E. Seman, Esq., and Gustave Lachal, Esq, J.P. The subdivision is marked out in six sections and sales were spread out over seven weeks.
