Description
While the poster declares that this is the first sale I suspect there was an earlier sale which included the land on the “Locality Plan” – on the 30th of May 1888 there was an auction of 50 acres running from Wood Street. This sale is is approximately 10 acres. The land is the block bounded by Beauchamp Street, High Street, Murray Road and Plenty Road. The bottom of the poster has been torn away and I have not reconstructed the name of the auctioneer.
