This is the sale of Mr. Cann’s orchard on the 18th of November 1882. There are 95 allotments, of which, some 60 sold. The remaining were offered up in March 1883. The auctioneer has recorded the price of many of the lots. As an example, each of  lots 6 and 37 sold at 30/- shillings a frontage foot – £99-0-0 for each lot. Mr. Cann’s orchard ran from Inglesby Road, between Burke Road and Arlington Street, south to cover both sides of Alma Road.
