Description
A very straight poster from 1934 with two illustrations from the area. The development of 59 lots (9 sold prior to the auction) runs from High Street south down boths sides of Tower Hill Road and the western side of Munro Avenue. It stops just short of Dent Street. It was a very successful sale as an article from the Argus of Monday the 19th of November 1934 reports:-

An indication of the increased interest in the property market was given on
Saturday afternoon at a subdivisional sale held at Ashburton by H. P. Knight and
Co., who sold 50 allotments and a brick, nine-roomed residence on the Tower Hill
estate. Competition was keen. The allotments realised £ 8,183. The sections along
Munro avenue brought from 25/ to £2/10/ a foot; those along Tower Hill road
from 22/ to £3/7/6 a foot; and those along High street from £4/2/6 to £4/5 a foot.
