Description

This is an executor’s sale of the late Mr. C. G. Turner’s property in Ascot Vale. He seemed to have other farming properties SE of Melbourne. This sale was not a roaring success. The Age of the 11 th of April, page 7, reported:-

SALES OF FHOPERTY.

Graham and Styles (in conjunction with Tadgell Bros.) report having held a subdivisional sale of the Warlcc Estate, Ascot Vale, on Saturday afternoon. There was a good competition for the brick villa, which realised £870; 3 allotments in Middle Street and 2 allotments in South-street were sold at from £2 I8/ to £2 15/ per foot. The bidding for the remaining 12 blocks did not quite reach the reserve, and they were passed in for private sale. Total sales, £1464 10/.

The estate is around the centre of the block bounded by East, Middle, West and South Streets.
