Great Railway Station Estate 1898 – Canterbury

This development has some history. Below is a report in the Age of sales from early June 1890:-

SALE OF PROPERTY.
Mr. A. H. Hansen, of tho City Bank-chambers, re-
ports having sold two of the three two-storied residences,
and also three vacant allotments in the Great Railway
Station Estate, Canterbury, at satisfactory prices.

Here is portion of another advertisement, this time the 12th of November 1896:-

The balance of this SPLENDID ESTATE, as described
above, and consisting of over 25 acres, will be sold In one
block. The estate is beautifully situated, commanding
extensive views over land and sea. Drainage perfect,
only four minutes from the Canterbury railway station.
Water and gas laid on to the ground.

This poster has seen some difficult times as well – especially the heading – but the map area is legible as are many of the inscriptions. I could not find any advertisements for this auction or any details on the outcome.
