Description
The poster labels all the surrounding roads but not the one through the center of the subdivision. It is Queens Parade. The April sale must have been successful as just 6 months later an advertisement appeared in the “The Telegraph, St Kilda, Prahran and South Yarra Guardian” of the 6th of October 1888 – page 9, offering 3 fine building sites in Hurry’s Orchard on Queens Parade. The size quoted was each 50 x 140. The subdivision, Hurry’s Orchard, runs from Norwood Road (now Toorak) south along both sides of Queens Parade to the point where the road curves.
