In November 1913 the auctioneers were advertising 100 allotments in Bittern. The auction date was Boxing Day 1913. Closer to the auction they were advertising 124 allotments. Later on the 28th of February 1914 they were advertising 150 commercial and residential allotments. After the Easter Monday sale advertisements appeared offering lots from £11. While the area covered by the poster remains recognisable there have been changes – many blocks have been amalgamated. Taylor Street has lost all of its southern section and Urquhart Crescent is now only 100 metres long. Davies Street however, seems to have lived on.
