This auction is for the remaining portion of the Edgevale Estate. Sales started in 1885 and this sale is likely to have been held as the “Land Boom” was busting. The subdivision starts on the north side of Fitzwilliam Street and follows both sides of Byron and Scott Streets north to about half way to Wellington Street. There were no newspaper reports on the success of the sale and no subsequent addvertisements for private sales.
