Description
This is the fourth sale for this subdivision. Earlier sales were on the 29th of September 1883, 158 lots were offered but only 33 sold, prices ranged from £4-10-0 to £3-15-0 on Wolseley Parade and around £3-10-0 on Derby and Ormond Streets. The next sale was on the 17th of November 1883, only 14 sold and prices on Chatham ( now Hardiman ) Street were between £2-2-6 to £ 2-17-6 per frontage foot. The third sale was on the 9th of February 1884 when some 120 allotments were for sale and then we have this sale on the 3rd of May. Newspaper reports on this sale said the properties on Macauley Road, Wolseley Parade and Ormond Street sold for between £1-17-0 and £3-6-0 per frontage foot. Other street covered in the subdivision include Chelmsford, Eastwood, Bellair, Childers and Albemarne.
