Description
A subdivision of 80 allotments along Johnstone and Neville Streets between Nepean Highway (Arthur’s Seat Road back then) and Warrigal Road (Oakleigh Road in 1888). Reports from the Caulfield and Elsternwick Leader of Saturday the 16th of June 1888 suggest a very successful day for the promoters:-
Mr. Robert S. Hair reports having held a successful sale of the Mentone Railway Reserve, Mentone, on Saturday afternoon. All the business frontages to the main Mordialloc Road were sold, at from £3 10. to £3 2s. 6d. per, foot. Oakleigh Road frontages realised from 31s to 24s and the villa sites in the subdivision between these roads at from 31s to 21s but mostly at 29s per foot. Total, £4,287 6s.4d.4d.
